With a couple exceptions (Minister Cho's, Tracking the Corruption), I really liked the difficulty in HM, and hope they keep doing things like this. (Honestly, I kind of like the "like the titan quests" approach, but I get why that's not ideal.)

I'd be happy to have HM not give any new rewards (just more of the same), but I'll also say that having a new hero be HM only motivated me to finish HM sooner, and I'm personally OK with that (because I like HM anyway). I get why people didn't like it, though, and like I said, I'd be happy without it.

Still working through HM and now I'm stuck again on Warning the Angchu. I see many people beating these quests with casters going /Mo bonder or /Rt SoS. I often feel in these quests that my Warrior is just dead weight.

Warning the Angchu is an annoying quest, because of the random enemy/ally group composition. You can't ball up the first group of initially peaceful ministry clowns, which means that shutting them down is kind of hard, especially with a small party. Too many clerics in that group means you can't make good time wiping them out, while a few starburst guys vaporize the Angchu in no time. Basically, you need a spawn that suits the strengths and weaknesses of your party, or the fight's going to be hellishly tough.

If you have an MM with death nova, that can help clean up the first group. Just flag into them before they turn hostile. It might still be a pain, depending on the composition, but that can make it a lot easier.

For now I only wish the enemies in Minister Cho were in parties of 3 instead of 4.

Having beat it on my Dervish and starting on my Assassin, the amount of enchantment removal is beyond the pale. Pretty much the first thing would happen in every mob was Pious/Strength of Honor/Critical Agility getting stripped, often all at once from Strip Enchantment. Even if I had enough covers for the initial pull, the necro soul explosions strriping up to 4 enchantments is crazy. I had a lot of fun in WoC with my Dervish because Pious was a great cover, but trying to play my assassin is not fun at ALL.

That, and I loathe quests where you have to protect NPCs that have atrocious AI such as Soar in Warning the Angchu who will happily stand in AoE all day long.

Thanks, I just got it. I now see what people were talking about when they said to use a MM with Death Nova. It really is about where you flag him. During the dialogue I was manually making him cast Death Nova on all his minions and himself. When they turned hostile there was a great explosion and pretty much everyone dropped dead.

Finished WoC NM on 7 chars, derv and sin included. Also finished WoC HM just on my sin. NM was really easy, while some of the HM quests were not. The most annoying quest HM for me was Finding Jinnai. But I somehow managed to finish it easier than I expected (took me some tries, but I did it on my own, no help from anyone xD). Raid on Shing Jea Monastery HM was surprisingly easier than NM. Final Confrontation HM - well...that one was the toughest of them all, but still doable. On my sin I found all quests to be from easily doable to a little harder - using not only the right builds, but right tactics too got me through. By the way, I didn't use any enchants on my sin on the entire WoC story line, exactly for the reason you're talking about. Protecting the Kurzick / Luxon Diplomats was pretty easy if using a minion master Necro and making the Diplomats follow him. Warning the Angchu was a little tough, but the Tengu Flares helped a lot. Minister Cho's Estate was frustrating, but it went ok after all. All I can say about WoC NM & HM is that on NM is really easy & on HM is same (Raid on SJM is easier than on NM), except for 3-4 quests which actually require more than just right builds. And I didn't use any cons, just summoning stones, depending on quest.

Yeah that's basically the experience I had with my Dervish. Beat Warning the Angchu with Tengu Flares and pulled the Kurzick diplomats away with an MM. Those two quests were the only roadblocks in HM. The Am Fah are so bad at the game that I didn't even have to move the Luxon ones lol. I found Final Confrontation HM extremely easy by just killing the phantasms and ministry as soon as they spawned.

My point about my sin wasn't that it's been HARD thus far; it's been as easy as it was on my Dervish. My point was that it simply does not feel FUN and makes me want to use my Mesmer or something instead because at least my Dervish had some level of protection against the enchant removal and had scythe + splinter weapon to provide some entertainment. But then I remember I have to drag my way all the way through the least enjoyable campaign in the game again to use her.

I guess I should also get to the rewards. On the one hand, the rewards from doing the quests were, to my surprise, extremely good. The greens at the end, on the other hand, are atrociously bad. 20/20 offhands would have been great, not 10%/+30 HP. Same with the +15% while enchanted weapons. Unforutnately, Anet has a habit of doing this with endgame weapons and I have no clue why, especially caster ones(Straw Effigies, Golden Boar Scepters).

I meant to mention another positive, though. My favorite part was the Jade Brotherhood Demolitionists. Something about the self-destructing monsters with an impressive explosion cracked me up, particularly when I went to pull them and forgot to micro Shelter and blew up. Oh, and Cynn/Qao Lin in Raid on Shing Jea/Kaineng respectively were corny but in a good way.

what i dont like is so fat the quests arent repeatable, some quests like the Keiran quests can be retaken in the hall of monuments such as the quest RISE to get war supplies in order to get your weapons etc in the Keep. this isnt the case, its awful slow to get other weapons/lockboxes, and considering most arent trade-able(lockboxes) the content replay value for me personally went out the bloody window...complete it nm +hm get both heroes & done...never will go back to it.

you cant add the weapons to yout HoM (gold) the green end trophy isnt tradable either.
so much crap is ....crappy.

I liked the difficulty but loved even more the few adjustments (on cho and tracking) since they were too frustrating to do.

For now it's just missing some kind of repeatable quest.
I would like it to either a solo (like keiran) or some kind of challenge that would require an actual human party.
This way it would be way easier and less boring to get more lockboxes.

i liked (about WoC in general)

-Miku (she's probably my overall favorite npc. its a shame the sin hero AI blows. cuz id always be using her. pity.)
-the panda pet. that was a nice surprise
-imperial weapons. i love the staff
-greens with skins of other weapon types (sword wand, dagger shield)

Didnt care for:
-the NM/HM approach. made it SEEM like there was way more content then there actually was
-Unbalanced quests (needing to hide in a corner, pull the NPC back, relying on some exploit in AI, etc)
-the fact that my character complained about slaughtering humans, when she's done it many many times before (Crimson Skulls, Mantle, Corsairs, Kournans, Jade Brotherhood, Am Fah, Outcast, Luxon, Kurzick...why the change of heart now?........>.> )
-the entire "cleansing" part

It becomes tiresome killing the same mob 20 times per quest for 20 quests.

Rather than producing thoughtful content, they just copy and paste shitloads of that same mob to spawn right on your head. Then you get to do it again in HM.

like it all in most parts only have 1 complaint so far. The drop rates from the minastary guys is down right appalling, All though I haven't tried hm yet wiki does say that these guys drop commendations and weapons , so far after running 2 toons through in nm not one drop thats decent, in fact, the drops are ridculess with pretty much bugger all droping from any group.

cheers Phab

i like the story and lots of fights, and love the rewards (havent got any yet, but i like heroes)
new enemies are fun too, lil hard, but most arent too strong
i like panda as pet, and i like a few other items we can get, like in WiK, by farming or gaining

what i dislike:
- NM and HM difficulty
- 1 hero you get only through HM
- saving npc's which, if die, fail the quest (always had that, but now its even harder to keep em alive)

and whats not sure yet, is that i rather have WiK kind of quests, like those wanteds, to get those Ministerial Commendation, to be able to get those lockboxes, just as fun as nicholas gifts and royal gifts from WiK
but its not here, and i dont know if it will come or not, so cant put it in any lists yet, who knows
